The colorful collage illustrations show them paw-in-paw, marveling at rainbows and forest flora and cuddling close, "untouched by the frost." The thick paper, earthy palette, and full-bleed layout attempt to elevate the perfectly lovely but utterly ordinary story line. The rhyming text makes this an easy read-aloud but one that is likely to appeal more to an adult's emotions than a child's sensibilities. Mark Sperring's passion for and knowledge of books inspired him to become a children's book author. Among his other works are MAX AND THE WON'T GO TO BED SHOW, WANDA'S FIRST DAY, MERMAID DREAMS, and THE FAIRYTALE CAKE. He lives in Bristol, England.

Beautiful writing and sweet illustrations. I love that the child and adult are not defined as male or female so it can apply to any child and adult relationship. This is a book I can enjoy reading over and over again.
